Positive Behaviour Support
1 day course - aimed at workers in the care and education sector - available as in-house training at a venue of your choice throughout the UK
This course is specifically designed for professionals who work with children and young adults and need to have specific knowledge of how to support those who need it in a professional and supportive manner. We will look at why children and young adults show certain behaviours and the strategies to de-escalate situations. We will also look at how to modify practice to help the children and young people to meet their needs in a more positive way. We will consider how current legislation is to be implemented and how work practices are influenced by legislation.
This course will focus on recognising positive supportive techniques within the work setting, while also being able to recognise and eliminate poor practice. We will give attendees the skills and knowledge to recognise poor practice while promoting the knowledge and skills to put positive alternatives in place, while also exploring the potential consequences of incorrect practices.
